Welcome to the Arizona Renaissance Festival--Huzzah!
The KNTR booth greeted festival goers at the front gate during Pirate Weekend. KNTR Staffers Robert Gary, Denise Gary, and Debbie Brown Volunteers Tina Worley and Marianne Luskey helped man the booth on Saturday. KNTR ribbon tributes were found throughout the festival. (Thank you, Nacole and Krista!) Kids came bearing gifts of books. They received goodie backpacks in addition to their free tickets. The kids enjoyed digging through their goodie packs. A dad helps his son don his KNTR backpack. The participants were friendly and had a good time. A KNTR bookmark brings happiness. Bring a book. Receive a free ticket to the faire. Recieve a KNTR goodie backpack. Let's talk books! KNTR buttons were also treasured. A father teaches his daughter to choose just one. Free tickets! Everyone wants a KNTR backpack! Many came in costume. This pirate lady brought a tote filled to the top with books for KNTR! Some were shy. Some had wings. It would not be a KNTR event without Highlights and Dr Pepper! Denise gives a Highlights magazine to a very excited little girl. Denise attempts to properly genuflect to faire royalty (and KNTR volunteer) Krista Bricker. Festival players (and KNTR volunteers) Carl Wagner and Nacole Vickery. Musician and Storyteller Charles Newton Development Director Debbie Brown, and volunteers Tina Worley and Marianne Luskey get into the spirit of the festival. KNTR Creative Director Robert Gary helps in the booth.
Caught! Oh, yes, chocolate! Sunday morning brings storm clouds over the festival. The KNTR booth glows. Tartanic comes out to play before the opening of the festival. Pirate Volunteer! KNTR volunteer Michael Emerson bundles up against the cold weather. Kids put on their KNTR buttons. More books! Happily picking up Highlights, buttons and bookmarks. A boy decks his costume out with KNTR buttons!
Denise and Debb brave the cold! Storm is coming! Hail storm at the KNTR booth! Festival goers seek shelter with KNTR. Fresh snow appears on top of the Superstition Mountains as the storm passes. Sunny skies reappear for KNTR.
Thanks to everyone for a great book drive!
