Kids Need to Read 2012 Wall Calendar
Inspiring Imagination
Work on the Kids Need to Read 2012 wall calendar has already begun! After the extremely warm reception of our 2010 calendar, we have decided to skip 2011, so we can go all out on the 2012 issue and develop our calendar project into a larger, year-round event.
We cannot contain our excitement in announcing that our new calendar will feature beautiful, original art from twelve fine artists who graciously support our foundation. These art pieces will be a wonderful mix of paintings, hand illustrations, water colors, comic art, and digital designs. Each will feature an important element yet to be revealed. We have other wonderful, secret plans for the calendar artwork, so keep watch for the unveiling in mid-2011.
We thank the following artists who have kindly agreed to contribute their time and talent to the Kids Need to Read 2012 calendar project (with more to be announced soon):
| PJ Haarsma | – | KNTR Founder, digital artist, author of The Softwire Series |
| Jackie Morris | – | author/illustrator of The Snow Leopard and Tell Me a Dragon |
| James A. Owen | – | author/illustrator of The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica Series |
| Steven Riley | – | author/illustrator of the Little Ty Cooney Series, KNTR children’s presenter |
| Jason T. Kruse | – | author/illustrator of The World of Quest Series |
| Frank Beddor | – | author of The Looking Glass Wars Series |
| Jack Gantos | – | author/illustrator of the Joey Pigza Series and Hole in My Life |
| J.S. Lewis | – | author/illustrator of the Grey Griffins Series |
| Chris Gall | – | author/illustrator of Dinotrux |
| Nathan Hale | – | illustrator of Rapunzel's Revenge and Calamity Jack |
| Adam Rex | – | author/illustrator of The True Meaning of Smekday |
| Mike Dubisch | – | illustrator of Heir to Fire |
(Thank you, Jackie Morris, for your kind, collaborative brainstorming on this project!)
As with the 2010 calendar, we are asking for contributions to support the printing costs of the new calendar. Our kind sponsors were integral to the success of our current calendar. The 2012 calendar will be printed this year, so we are accepting sponsorship donations immediately. A donation of $300 or more will qualify for sponsorship listing on the calendar and on our website. Of course, support of any amount will be gratefully appreciated.
